As my 911 SC Sportomatic restoration draws to a close, my attention is turned to the 914 Crayford which has been patiently waiting in the depths of my garage.

But where do I start? The car used to be Signal Orange so first things first, I need to take the body back to bare metal to see if the car really is as good as it appears to be in the rust department. The car also looks like it was painted by a monkey with a hose pipe, so the whole car really does need stripping back and etch priming. So I think the engine is going to have to come out, to do the job properly and remove the engine bay paint and replace those sound proofing pads.
