Porsche 911 Carrera Clubsport 1988

Probably the rarest of Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 models is the limited editon Clubsport of 1988. It can be identifed as option M637. In the region of 340 cars were produced during the 1988-'89 period. The Clubsport was basically a lightweight 3.2 Carrera Coupe, reduced by 110lbs and fitted with a blueprinted 3.2 Carrera engine with hollow valve stems and modified ignition system giving an increased Rev limit of 6840rpm and a very slight power increase.

It was equiped with Bilstien sport shocks to stiffen up the handling along in combination with the larger footprint of the 16" fuch alloys provide a more race ready ride. To save weight, equipment was pared right down to bare essentials a spoiler package and short shift gearlever. There was no fog lights, no electric seats or windows, no rear seats, no air con and no under body sealant or sound proofing.

The majority of Clubsports were built in Grand Prix White with red "Carrera CS" graphics, but there were a few special order cars in black, red and silver. The fuch wheel centres could be in either white, red or black.
