Porsche 356 Converible D LHD (UK)

A rare opportunity to acquire what is arguably the best 356 model a Convertible 'D'. The speedster body looks without the draughty leaking windows, just what you need in the UK.

This particular Convertible 'D' (one of only 1,330 produced) left the Porsche factory in 1959 and was exported to Canada, little is known of it's early history until it turned up in England in 1964.

From the Porsche Club of Great Britain registry records the car took part in several competitive hill climbs and sprints throughout the sixties, during the seventies when values of 356's were at rock bottom CWU 384B changed hands many times, eventually being saved for restoration in 1981.

The car was completely dismantled and restoration of the unique Drauz body work, original engine and suspension was completed in 1986. But it was another 13 years languishing in a barn in Wales before my part in it's history began.

Although mechanically perfect the rest of the car was literally in boxes and it took over four years to acquire the many rare parts to finish the restoration.

CWU 384B is now sadly up for sale, the car was MOT'ed last year and comes complete with many spare parts including an engine.
